4th Grade

In Fourth Grade: 

In fourth-grade social studies, students will learn about California history.  We will explore weather, ecosystems, rocks and soil, and electricity and magnetism in science.  Fourth-grade writers will expand their writing skills to produce multi-paragraph essays and to write over more extended time frames.  In reading, fourth-grade students will begin tackling more complex texts, with a particular focus on reading for information.  Fourth grade is also a big year in math!  Students will expand their knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to larger numbers, and build foundational skills with fractions and decimals.
